Safety precautions related to COVID-19

Age at Home caregivers are required to be up-to-date with COVID vaccination, including booster if eligible. Once in the home, we are washing hands frequently and taking standard precautions to prevent illness, like wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the visit.

Please know that we are taking appropriate steps to prevent COVID from spreading—while also pursuing our mission of compassionate care. We will review and adapt our actions as needed, in line with the advice of national and local leaders. If you have any concerns or have questions for us, please call (608) 327-7456.

New Local Option Helps Janesville Seniors Stay Safe and Independent at Home

With the right kind of reliable help, people can safely remain in their own homes as they age. It’s welcome news for many, including those who value independence or don’t have family nearby for support.

Building on its 40+ years’ experience caring for people in south central Wisconsin, Agrace is branching out from hospice care by offering a non-medical, home care service, Age at Home, to people in Janesville, Edgerton, Evansville and Milton.

Age at Home offers a menu of services designed to help seniors and others whose physical limitations make it hard to live on their own. Tasks that can challenge people’s independence as they age include personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, medication schedules, errands and transportation. Age at Home assists with all of those and has specialty services, such as overnight and live-in care. Clients can personalize support to their needs and stay in control of their home and lifestyle, rather than depending on favors from family, friends and neighbors.

“From serving Rock County residents for decades, Agrace has learned that people want to stay in their homes as long as they can. Most people know Agrace for the hospice care we provide, but I’m so proud that our organization has created Age at Home as an option for local individuals who need in-home support,” said Susan Hirschfield, regional homecare operations director for Agrace Hospice Care. “Age at Home can help anyone—you don’t have to be on hospice. Local caregivers can come in a few days a week and keep people in their homes more long-term.”

Age at Home clients have the flexibility to schedule and pay for just the services they want. Services are provided by kind, capable staff who are thoroughly screened, very well-trained, and backed by the resources of Agrace, an organization trusted for compassionate care throughout southern Wisconsin.
