Age at Home Features
In December 2019, Evey Elton, 96, began receiving visits from an Age at Home caregiver. She found a warm-hearted companion in Kate, and the timing could not have been more perfect.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, the senior living apartment where Evey lives needed to restrict outside visitors, including families and caregivers like Kate. Like so many other seniors, Evey began to feel isolated from her family and she missed Kate’s companionship. Fortunately, by mid-summer, Kate was able to resume her semi-weekly visits with Evey.
Kate helps Evey with cleaning, doing laundry, making doctor visits, running errands and walking her beloved dog, Boo Boo. “I have a companion,” says Evey. “She’s reliable and just perfection! I enjoy her so much. I don’t want anyone to ‘steal’ her. I’m perfectly satisfied!”
Social interaction, like a daily visit from an Age at Home companion, can boost a senior’s well-being and also ensure that they safely shower, dress, take medications and eat well. If you think the support of an Age at Home companion could help you or someone you love, look over the menu of our services and contact us today.
